Biblical Answers if horses will be in Heaven or not?
Since the passing of my daughter, Anna, and our horse, Daisy, I’ve thought a lot about Heaven. So, it’s only natural I suppose I want to know more about it. I didn’t doubt that they would be there, but I thought it would be nice to share some solid answers to these important questions. Do you give much thought to Heaven?
Do you think of it as being a place in the clouds with angles and golden streets? To be honest. I love trees and river and mountains and my horses. And goes without saying my beautiful family. All the people and animals I love, plus Jesus! That is a perfect Heaven to me.
What is Heaven and How to Get there?
If you believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior, then you will immediately be taken to Heaven when you die. Jesus on the cross told the thief he would be with him in paradise. (Luke 23:43)
Jesus also told his disciples, “I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14:3) Which indicates a location.
What will Heaven be like?
Scripture tells us there will be a new Earth. What does that mean? Picture a remodeled home. It’s still a home with rooms, walls, bathroom, and kitchen, but it’s all new and updated and beautiful. We can assume it will be like Earth as we know it, with lakes, mountains, and oceans, even cities, but an updated version. (Revelation 21-22)
Likewise, we will be the same, but a glorified version. Without sin, illness, and pain.
So far, we’ve discovered that it’s a real place with a real location and that it is a paradise. Free from sin, sorrow, and tears.
Will Horses & other animals be in Heaven?
Animals have always been a part of God’s plan and always will be. In the beginning, God made animals and livestock and said that it was good. (Genesis 1:25) They were even a part of salvation when he flooded the Earth. That is why two of every kind were taken in Noah’s ark. (Genesis 6-7) When we think of the new Earth, we can imagine all the beautiful animals bringing God glory.
Horses and Equines in the Bible
The Bible even describes a donkey as being able to see an angelic being. (Numbers 22) When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, she lay down under Balaam, and he was angry and beat her with the staff. Then the LORD opened the donkey’s mouth, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?”
Then Jesus himself rode a colt into Jerusalem. (Matthew 21:6) Say to the daughter of Zion, see your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt, places their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them.
Lastly, when Christ returns, he is described in Revelation as riding a white horse. (Revelation 19:11) I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True.
Horses and other equines have held a prominent place in the Bible. They have served humanity faithfully for centuries. My opinion is that God will reward them greatly for their service, for He himself came to serve and not be served. (Mark 10:45)
I am so grateful God gave us beautiful horses here on Earth and I look forward to the ones in Heaven as well.

For anyone who doubts Heaven is real, this is a wonderful resource. I have heard Don Piper speak twice, and his testimony is very powerful. You can read his book 90 Minutes in Heaven or even watch the movie.
If you just want more answers on the topic of Heaven Randy Alcorn’s book, Heaven, is an in-depth study. He also has a short booklet that answers common questions that you can read in one sitting.
