A Poetic Ride through the Alphabet
It all began early in 2024 when I started writing a story that rhymed, trying to incorporate each letter of the alphabet about horses. I’m sure I was inspired by the many alphabet books I’d been reading to my children at the time.

I shared the story with a few family members, who said they enjoyed it, and from that moment, I dreamed of turning it into a beautifully illustrated children’s book. My first step was reaching out to the publisher I worked with on my previous book. Unfortunately, their quote was astronomical, and I would have had very little say in the artistic direction of the illustrations. My hope of having it published began to fade.
I explored other publishing options, but time after time, the cost was more than I could manage. As the year went on, I set the idea aside. But it kept resurfacing, and finally I couldn’t let it go. Eventually, I connected with a small local publishing company that gave me the contact information for an artist. They suggested I could contract the illustrations independently and then self-publish the book.
That connection led me to Katie Kight—and it has been a dream come true for both of us. I couldn’t be happier with the collaboration and hope to work with Katie again in the near future!
I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity and for the joy of reading a book to my children that I wrote myself. Now, I am delighted to finally share it with you! I hope you enjoy it!
