Let’s admit it, our horses mean more to us than all of Santa’s reindeer combined, and are more faithful than Rudolph himself. Am I right? Therefore, I know you don’t want to exclude them from your Christmas list.
To make it easier for you to shop, I’ve created a list of Christmas gifts just for horses. This way you can include something special for your faithful equine this Christmas.

Christmas gifts for horses
from boredom busters to sweet treats
If you have a horse that gets bored easily, there are some great gift ideas to help keep them busy. Some horses are more playful than others, but most horses find feeders of any kind interesting.
I guarantee there is at least one Christmas gift on this list you can buy your horse.
Bonus: These won’t break the bank.
Hay Ball Feeder
The hay ball feeder is a ball that you can hang anywhere. Take some hay and stuff inside the ball and then watch your horse work to get the hay out. It can help beat boredom and acts as a slow feeder. Therefore, these are a great way to help keep your horse occupied, especially if they are in a stall. Comes in a two-pack and is priced at $19.99.
Pas-a-Fier Stall Toy
Some horses really like to lick or chew, and this toy is great for those types of horses. It has a rotating device that rolls as they lick and can massage their gums as well. They make these in the USA and with durable material. Also, they are apple scented to pique their interest. Priced at $38.77.
Jolly Ball
This is a toy ball that you can hang anywhere and is great for the playful, curious horse. Great for young horses who need stimulation and play. You can either give them to your horse in their pen- giving them the freedom to roll them around and play with them. These also come apple scented to pique their interest even more. Priced at $34.31.
Treats
Is your horse food motivated? Then treats are a great way to spoil your horse this holiday season. There is such a wide variety of treats available. I think that’s a great way to give them something out of the ordinary. In my search, I found flavors ranging from peppermint to butterscotch. It should be fun figuring out which flavors your horse enjoys the most. Below is a brand that was top-rated on Amazon.
Equine Scratcher
These are great for helping your horse find relief from insect bites and itchy spots that they can’t reach. You can mount these on a post or in their stall. We have something similar on a post they walk by frequently and I see them use it all the time- rubbing back and forth on it. Priced at $36.99.
Himalayan Salt Lick
Horses love salt and pink Himalayan salt is great for horses- so these might be a great gift idea. If you don’t already buy them Himalayan salt it’s a great way to mix up the salt choice you give them. These come on a rope and you can hang them directly in their stall. A two-pack is priced at $25
Horse Play Ball
At first glance this looks like an excercise ball I know, but they make the horse play ball of anti-burst material so it is safe for horses to play with. Also, they come in different sizes to suit even small horses. These are great to give them in the pen or paddock and let them play with them. Or you could do some desensitizing and spend some time playing with them yourself. Either way, I think your energetic type horse could have a lot of fun with these. These come in three different sizes. Their largest size is priced at $25.
Kong Equine
Maybe you’ve heard of Kong dog toys before. Well, they make horse toys too. This toy you can hang anywhere or leave it on the ground. You stick treats or carrots in the ring. Your horse will have enjoyment from trying to dig those delicious treats out. They are a bit more pricey compared to the other toys are this list, but they are very sturdy and will hold up. They have two options Standard and Heavy Duty. Price starting at $119.99.

Something for each one in your herd
From young colts who need to expel extra energy to the older horse who need extra spoiling. My hope is, that you were able to find the perfect gift for your horse from this list.

What a fun list! Thank you very much sharing it with your readers. I just started seeing photos of the equine kong toy online. I’ve been curious to see if any of my horses might find it amusing. It’s definitely on my own list of possible horse gifts this year.

I don’t have a horse, but I was so excited when I saw your post because I hadn’t really thought about horse toys before. But I’m a firm believer in enrichment for dogs, so horses should have the same too! And I was delighted to see that some of the same brands we love for our dogs make horse toys too – such as Kong and Jolly Ball – both quality products.
I’m sure any horse who receives some of these gifts for Christmas will be lucky indeed! Thanks for sharing these fabulous ideas.
