Christmas Lights
These battery operated lights make good Christmas props for your horses. You could wrap them around your saddle, reins, or even their neck. You could get creative in how you use them. I think it would be fun for a parade if it was at night time.
Decorate the Mane
I have several ideas for Christmas props for your horses’ mane.
Tiny Ornaments
You could decorate it with tiny ornaments. Simply tie them in and snap you’re festive and cute! Check those out here.
Tensile
Then you could put tensile in their mane as well. It’s worth mentioning, I don’t dare put this messy stuff on my tree, but I think it could look pretty. You could mix different colors and tie them into your horse’s mane. Although, it may be a tedious job, depending on how you wanted to do it. Here is a link to some I found on Amazon. They have different colors to choose from.
You could get pretty creative with this. You could even decorate their tail.
Here are some additional prop options:
- feathers
- bows
- poinsettias or other flowers
- candy canes (watch out, your horse may want to eat them)
Garland around the horse’s neck
I thought this would be an easy and beautiful way to decorate your horse. I’m all about easy! Obviously, you would need to secure the ends, but I think it would make a great prop for Christmas photos. Here is a link to some.
Santa Hat
The Santa hat is a classic and never disappoints. Luckily, they make a Santa hat special for horses that have ear holes. Pick one up here.
Christmas Halter
A pretty red halter for Christmas will look great in a picture. Pick up a nice fur one here.
Christmas Horse Blanket
This is a cute option to pull out for a Christmas photo. These come in a variety of sizes. Undoubtedly, they are little more expensive than some of the other options.
Rudolph Antlers
I found little options in these for horses and the one I did find was, to be honest, a little cheesy looking. But I wonder if a large dog one would fit a horse because they had a lot cuter ones. If you try it you’ll have to let me know.
Leg Wraps
These might be an added touch along with some of these other options. Maybe you like to go all the way and dress your whole horse up.
sleigh bells
These are a classic Christmas item. there are a few different kinds. I found a large set and a small set. The small set you could clip easily to your saddle and hear that beautiful iconic sound as you rode.
There are lots of options here. I hope you have fun taking photos with your horse. Preserve those memories with your beloved horse with or without props. You won’t regret it!
